One Minute Drills |
Brush ball in takeaway for greater width |
For:The player who hits weak drives and fat iron shots, due to lifting the club up too soon in the takeaway, leading to a loss of width. Drill: This drill will groove a long, low, wide takeaway in the backswing which will promote powerful ball striking. Set up to a driver shot, with the ball in its normal position. Tee up another ball about twelve inches directly behind it. Start the backswing with your shoulders, arms and club together, maintaining the triangle relationship formed at address. Keeping the clubhead low to the ground, brush the ball off the second tee with the back of the driver head and hit the ball. This will groove a sweeping, wide takeaway and will encourage longer, harder shots. |
