Thanks to the special weaving techniques employed in the manufacture of the fabric used for Galvin Green Insula garments, the volume of the fabric itself can be increased by as much as 80%. This increased volume enables air to be trapped in the fibres of the material, negating the need for bulky, multi-layered material to keep warm. The trapped air is then heated by the body and provides excellent thermal insulation. The material itself is extremely light and capable of holding a large volume of air. The finish of the material is exceptionally smooth and comfortable to wear either over other garments or next to the skin. Galvin Green Insula garments are the ideal third layerwhen protection from cold, rather than, or eben as well as wind or rain, is required. Galvin Green Insula garments also have an optimum level of breathability which enables moisture from perspiration to be transported away from the body.
