Right hand only pitch

For: The player who struggles with judging distance on pitch shots and whose pitch shots lack conviction and feel.

Drill: The right hand for a right handed player tends to be the strongest and most co-ordinated and is the one which should be used to dictate the length of the backswing and to set the club in the backswing. Considering this, try hitting pitch shots with the right hand only, varying the swing length and speed to differ the length of the shot. This may be rather difficult at first, but the focus on the right hand will tend to create a better swinging action when you come to put both hands on the club and pitch normally.
