One Minute Drills |
Anti-Slice drill |
For: The slicer who has a tendency to rotate the left side too much in the downswing, causing the club to be thrown "over the top" and outside of the ideal swing path, resulting in sliced shots. Drill: Using a mid iron, tee a ball up and set up to it normally. Keep the clubface aimed at the target, but turn your body 45 degrees to the right into an extremely closed set up. Your right foot will be drawn back and the clubface should appear very closed. Hit shots in this set up, feeling the club approach the ball from inside the line of play. Your arms and hands will naturally rotate the clubface through impact causing the ball to move right to left in the air. Once you have become used to hitting these hook shots, set up normally with the clubface aimed at the target and you will find that you attack the ball much more from the inside, creating more power and no slice shots. |
