| Tee Contact helps positive putting |
For: Players who struggle on short putts, leaving the face misaligned with the hole at impact. This drill will enable you to square the face and develop a hit-and-resist sensation, vital to positive short putting. |
Drill: Put two tees firmly in the ground, at a width to enable a ball to pass through. Place a ball in between them and strike it. The putter head will stop at the tees. Hold this impact position for a couple of seconds to get used to the hit and resist sensation, making sure that both ends of the putter head contact the tees at the same instant. This ensures that the putter face is dead square. You can do this drill for any length putt and even do it around the hole, to develop your confidence. |
