One Minute Tips
Two balls pitching drill
For: Players who struggle hitting high, soft pitch shots or controlling distance on pitch shots, through hitting thin or fat.

Drill: To hit a high, lofted, soft pitch, you must hit down on the ball with a steep angle of attack. Set up to a pitch of approximately 40-60 yards, with the ball slightly forward of centre and your weight even. Place another ball 10 - 12 inches behind the ball. Hit the shot, attempting to miss the second ball and strike the intended ball. You will realise that in order to do this successfully, you must approach the ball with the hands ahead of the clubhead, attacking the ball on a fairly steep descent. If, like many amateurs, you attempt to add loft by breaking the wrists and scooping the ball up into the air, you will find that you hit the second ball. You can do this successfully when you can hit clean, high, soft pitches with another ball attempting to distract you.
