Position the backswing drill |
For:The player who does not have a consistent backswing position and is unsure of the correct top of the backswing position, causing all kinds of erratic shots. Drill:This drill will help you understand the correct top of the backswing position and will enable you to deliver the club more solidly into impact. Take a normal stance with a seven iron. Lift the club in front of you to waist height and cock your wrists toward your right shoulder so that the club head now sits over your right shoulder and points down at the ground. Now turn your shoulders to your right as you would in a normal backswing, so that your back points at the target. Raise your hands and arms straight up so that the club now points at the target. Practicing this positioning method in front of a mirror will help you consistently achieve a correct backswing. You can even hit balls with this drill. |
