Rob Humphrey PGA - Manager of Golf
Welcome to my coaching page. I am the Head Coach and Manager of Golf for Premium Golf at Tyrrells Wood Golf Club. I qualified as PGA Golf Professional in 1997 and began my teaching career at Hoebridge Golf Centre in Woking, one of the busiest golf centres in the south of England. In 2004 I moved to the prestigious The Richmond Golf Club as the Senior Assistant and in 2006 to Gatton Manor as the Head Professional. Although my main passion is teaching, I also regularly compete on the South Region & Surrey PGA circuits, where in 2003 I won Surrey’s oldest professional tournament - The Surrey Open.
I aim to bring to Tyrrells an enthusiastic, fun & fresh approach to improving your golf. I have further developed my skills as a coach through training as a NLP sports practitioner, which I have found invaluable and have made some dramatic improvements with my pupils.
Time for a fresh approach
There have been many improvements in golf over the last 20 years. For example, golf club heads are bigger and apparently more forgiving than ever before; golf courses are set-up and prepared in better condition and the knowledge of the golf swing have improved. However ask yourself the question: why has the average golf club handicap remained the same over the last 20 years, despite all these improvements? Maybe its time for a different approach to teaching the game! With the skills & tools I have learnt from Dr. Karl Morris & Jamie Edwards from Trained Brain (who work with some of the top sports men & women around the world - including Freddy Flintoff & Darren Clarke to name just two), we are changing the way golf is taught & learnt with some fantastic results!

Locations I am based at Tyrrells Wood Golf Club, Surrey, which is easily accessed off J9 of the M25. Tyrrells boasts fantastic practice facilities, including a state of the art Indoor Golf Simulator - one of only two in the UK - integrated with GASP video analysis software (as used on Sky Sports' golf coverage).
