Location:

The Club is situated on the hillside above Lamlash village on the Isle of Arran.

The Golf:

Set on the hillside above the village of Lamlash on the Isle of Arran, Lamlash Golf Club is the oldest course in Arran. It is also blessed with an amazing outlook over the Clyde Estuary and magnificent Ayrshire coast. With its lush fairways, beautiful greens and superb views it is a course not to be missed in a pilgrimage to the south-west of Scotland.

A testing undulating heathland course, Lamlash was designed by Willie Auchterlonie and Willie Fernie and founded in 1889. Although quite short ( Par 64 -4,640 yds.) it is a delightful course which offers a serious challenge for golfers of all abilities There are several very testing Par 3's, including two measuring over 220 yds. The par 4,’s demand great accuracy off the tee, or a lost ball is the likely result. The signature hole is the par 3 16th which has an elevated tee and a Green that is protected by two bunkers at the front and a burn at the rear.

The view of the Holy Island from the 4th green is particularly splendid and should not be missed. Finally the view from the recently refurbished and extended clubhouse, which overlooks the magnificent 18th green, must be of one of the finest finishing holes anywhere with an amazing backdrop of the Arran landscape.
