| Why you should eat breakfast |
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so they say. We'll tell you why this is true. Upon waking, your body is in a fasted state, having not eaten for the best part of ten hours. For energy, your body will continue to break down your fuel stores glycogen and muscle and your metabolic rate will be very slow. This means that most of the calories you eat will be later in the day and you will become hungry as the day goes on. By starting with breakfast, you begin the day the correct way and you should add smaller snacks every few hours after that. |
