What golfers want

Since December 2012 Premium Golf has run a nationwide study in conjunction with Golf Monthly magazine, aiming to discover the ingredients of truly enjoyable, fulfilling golf. The study asks, in the context of your leisure time, what you want from the game. It then measures it against the actual experience. The words pictured here are the most commonly used in golfers' descriptions of how they want to feel on the course. 

The reality

Unsurprisingly, when viewing the game as a whole, most (but not all) golfers expressed a strong liking for golf.  However a mismatch appeared in the their experience over the ball:

88% of golfers experience fear or anxiety on at least a quarter of their shots

59% of golfers experience fear or anxiety on the majority of shots

Having interviewed hundreds of golfers we began to see a recurring cause of this enjoyment gap, where bad golf was an outcome not the source.
