The TaylorMade Brand
In the spring of 1979 a golf equipment salesman named Gary Adams took out a $24,000 loan on his home and founded the TaylorMade Golf Company. Their first innovative product, a 12-degree driver cast from stainless steel, peformed very differently from the traditional persimmon woods that were the norm at the time.
The clubs' performance propelled the company forwards, but their designs remained true to golfers' perceptions of how a club should look and feel. Despite huge advances in technology, these same values are still the driving force at TaylorMade today.
TaylorMade Club Fitting
TaylorMade would be the first to admit that a golfer can't truly leverage their technology if it isn't adapted to suit them. Our initially brand-neutral fitting combines the optimal conditions for comparison of an indoor environment with the realism of outdoor hitting from grass using premium grade balls.
With the addition of the sophisticated TrackMan launch monitor, we establish the ideal club characteristics to match why and how you play. As an independent club maker, we can also pick and fit shafts not offered by the manufacturer.
